A settlement has been reached with Albany Gastroenterology Consultants, PLLC (“Albany Gastro” or “Defendant”) in a class action lawsuit. This case is about the targeted cyberattack on Albany Gastro's computer systems that occurred in November 2024 (the “Data Breach”). Certain files that contained private information were accessed.
The lawsuit is called Clements v. Albany Gastroenterology Consultants, PLLC, Case No. 2026-008885-CA-01. It is pending in the Circuit Court of Miami-Dade County, Florida (the “Litigation”). Albany Gastro denies that it did anything wrong, and the Court has not decided who is right. The parties have agreed to settle the lawsuit (the “Settlement”) to avoid the costs and risks, disruptions, and uncertainties of continuing the Litigation.
Albany Gastro's records have identified Settlement Class Members who are entitled to benefits under the Settlement. Class Members may have received a previous notice directly from Albany Gastro.
